Though I’m not always the biggest fan of popcorn at the theater, I’m all for it for home movie marathons. My all-time favorite popcorn recipe and the one that allows me to always be the one choosing the movies we watch is a simple 3 ingredient caramel popcorn recipe that is done in half an hour.

I went back and forth on whether or not to share this recipe for days because honestly, I use it as leverage far too often. In the end, I decided to bank on my friends and family being too lazy to actually make this themselves (even though it’s so easy), so here we are.
3 Ingredient Caramel Popcorn Recipe
Everyone's favorite movie snack just got even more delicious with this easy 3 ingredient caramel popcorn recipe that will make you swear off all others!
- 1 part Butter
- 2 parts Sugar
- Microwave Popcorn
Pre-heat oven to 150 degrees Celcius.
Pop popcorn in the microwave, then place it in a big bowl.
Melt butter in a saucepan, add sugar. Cook until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has bubbled and doubled in size.
Remove caramel sauce from heat, then add it to the popcorn, stirring until the popcorn is evenly coated.
Spread the popcorn on a parchment paper covered oven tray.
Cook until the popcorn is dry and the caramel has set (approximately 30 minutes).
Before going into the oven.
After the oven, caramelized and lovely.
(Ideally, they should be removed from the oven before any burning occurs.)
Simple, isn’t it? They’re crunchy, sweet and addicting as heck. Seriously, you’ll eat a full bowl of these before you even notice what’s going on, and then you’ll have ingested three times the daily recommended sugar, and you’ll be hyper as all hell.
*cough* Not that that’s ever happened to me, of course. I’m a responsible popcorn eater, I am. Totally.
